Double Prams - Two Kids in One Stroller

A double pram is typically a stroller or carriage that has been built for two children. There are a host of models but typically the children either ride face to face, front to back or side to side. One is a must have for the parents of multiples, or parents to children very close in age. Traveling around with children that are twins or very close in age is very difficult without one.

Most double prams come in a variety of colors geared toward male or female children, than there are a host of prams that are geared toward gender neutral colors. There are those that are suited for rough terrains; there are those that are geared toward portability. Many are made with removable seats, multi position seats, conversion abilities for when the children get older. Most have built in accessories like cup holders, bags or baskets to lug around baby gear. Some are very simple, fold very compactly for travel and are lightweight. There are prams that are built like the popular umbrellas strollers, some have sun shields and a whole slew of other bells and whistles.

The prices vary greatly and really are dependent on what features the they have. For a top of the line model it is very easy to spend well over five hundred dollars, for a simple portable model the cost is much lower, around two hundred dollars. The cost may seem rather high, but when considering what it would be like to travel with two children without a place for one of them to sit, the cost seems rather minimal.

A good place to start looking for double prams is the classified ads, buying them second hand is a sensible thing to do. Buying one second hand will save some money and keep an additional object out of the landfill. A second handed one work just as well as a brand new one, at a fraction of the cost. If scouring thrift shops and classified ads does not result in finding any second hand prams, then looking through sale items at the local baby goods store is a good place to find them on sale.
